Does anybody know how to re-gear axles and want to help me out with my front and rear? I can even pull my axles and remove the shafts so that they can be done on a bench for ease. I would like to do standard 4.88's in my D30 and Yukon Thick Cut 4.88's on my D44 Trac-Loc 3.73 and numerically down carrier. I'm poor so I can't afford to pay to have the work done at a shop but can provide lunch and semi-skilled labor.

Good idea Meg. I'm not ready to help with this at this time. Maybe when it gets warm out but I'm not ready to make the house smell of gear oil cause my garage is in my basement. It stinks for days. Now I only do axle work outside.

I'd offer my garage, it's heated, but 1/2 is CJ stuff ( with my parents carp taking over MY spot) and the other 1/2 is mostly my dads tools and toys, I can't get my TJ in w/o hitting stuff and I'm not allowed to park on the honda
I do want my front end looked at, it's been wobbly since my near miss tuesday night. -------------------- Just another stupid Jeeper.

I would be interested in joining in on this. I have no experience and would like to learn. I would also like to re-gear my d30 and d44 this year.

I have some experience with this.
Regeared 3 D44s with a friend. Don't have a magnetic base dial indicator or shop press though. Do have micrometer, digital caliper. Also have setup bearings for D44s. -------------------- '92 XJ / 4.0L AW4 NP231 PORC SYE 4.88s / 5.5" RE Coils and 3.5" RE Leaves with 1.5" TNT Boomerangs / TNT Y-Link / Narrowed HP44 Lockright 760x with full circles/ XJD44 No-Slip with Exploder Discs / 35x12.5 MTZs on 15x8 Soft 8s / AJs 3/16" Superrails etc etc etc

Tech day possibilities? Even though my rig doesn't need much if anything done to it, I am allways up for a tech day, and helping out. -------------------- 1977 Bronco - 340 HP Ford Racing 5 Liter - NV3550 - 456 Gears - 3.5 Suspension lift - Bilstiens - one inch body lift - 35 BFG's
